WIP now have a site
for The Jacket, a new US release date of March 4th ( a week earlier than
previously slated), and the movie has a tagline, too: Terror Has A New
Name. No trailers have appeared online yet, but teasers are now showing
before Darkness and Sideways in US theatres. It will be rated R in the
US for language, violence and brief nudity (presumably the action before
or after this bit).
UK release is looking like mid-June,
with a rating of 15.
Here are some screencaps from the King Arthur alternate ending.

Details of another major new character
in the Pirates sequels have emerged:
Tia Dalma: Late 20's-late 40's.
Gypsy queen with a Jamaican accent has blazing eyes and a deep soul. A
clairvoyant force of nature; with tattoos, dreadlocks, piercings and covered
in jewelry. Her smile is more frightening than friendly. Role to appear
in both Pirates 2 & 3. Lead.
That's me out, then. Thanks to Emma
for the info.
As if Jane Austen fans weren't infuriated
enough about Working Title's version of Pride and Prejudice, the screenplay
writer Lee Hall, speaking on BBC Radio 4's Front Row programme yesterday,
admitted he had turned the novel into "a bit of a teen flick". If you're
quick you can still catch the show online here.
It looks at the enduring appeal of the novel and how different writers
have adapted it from different viewpoints over the years.
Meanwhile the latest press release
from the film's distributor UIP still has the movie down for a September
release, contrary to the director's hope of a Spring release.

Here is 10-year old Keira in The Bill, playing Sheena Rose in a 1995 episode called Swan Song. This was shown over Christmas on the BBC show Before They Were Famous. As it's such a brief clip, the editors have slowed down most of it. 500kb

The third and final Christmas Treasure Hunt is now online - see above.
Australian celebrity gossip mag NW has provided the obligatory 'Keira dating leading man' rumour from the filming of Domino. It claims Keira and Mickey Rourke were 'extremely close' while sitting ringside at a boxing match, and that at one point 'he was even holding her arm' (shock horror!). I think NW must stand for Nonsense Weekly. It would appear this will now be the norm for every film Keira makes, so you can get ready for the Keira/Orlando rumours all over again next year.
Keira is now enjoying a very special Christmas break - and it's not with Mickey Rourke! More details next week, due to privacy and security reasons.
Keira was the fourth most popular name search on the Internet Movie Database in 2004. Considering the database has 51,000 names and 20 million users, that's quite a feat. Interestingly, three of the Top 4 are all cast members of Pirates of the Caribbean - I'm sure that will be music to Jerry Bruckheimer's ears, and Disney's too.
After a few weeks' delay, ITV1 in the UK will be showing little Keira in The Treasure Seekers on Sunday January 2nd at 3.30pm. She appears in two scenes.
I'd like to wish everyone a very
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Thank you for all your kind words
via email and guestbook entries this year, it makes the maintenance of
such a continually-updated web site as this all the more worthwhile. A
site doesn't get nearly half a million visitors if it has nothing worth
visiting for, or to keep on revisiting. KeiraWeb is a solo effort and still
very much a 'spare time' project for me, hence the absence of many sections
you would expect to see on a fan site, but keep it bookmarked - they will
appear, I promise.
Best Wishes,
Paul

23% of British men would like to kiss Keira under the mistletoe, according to a poll by Sky Movies. That would be a long queue - she wouldn't be finished till August.
Mackenzie Crook is the latest actor to confirm his return for the Pirates sequel(s).

A few more days in Vegas is all that's left for the Domino cast and crew, according to the local Review Journal today.
Great quote from Geoffrey Rush today on his yes/no return to Pirates: "Technically, I'm in the sequel, but I've read more about it in Internet chat rooms than I've heard about it from Disney. That's how I handle my career. I read the fan sites and say, 'Oh, that's what I'm doing.' "
December 19th
Legendary singer/songwriter Tom Waits has landed a walk-on part in Domino. He will play a 'wandering soothsayer'. Meanwhile, the film's closing scene was recorded at the Stratosphere Tower on Saturday, including an explosion which blew out two windows in the Top of the World restaurant.
Pride and Prejudice topped a 'book that changed your life' poll of Woman's Hour listeners on BBC Radio 4. Article.
If this week's stories of Chow Yun Fat's casting as Chinese pirate Cheung Po Tsai are true, this poses chronological problems for the Pirates sequels. Google for the legendary pirate's name and half the sites say he lived in the 19th Century (ie. a century after the events of POTC1), and half the sites say he lived in the 15th Century (three centuries before POTC1). Whichever one is correct, it doesn't add up for the continuation of an 18th Century story (at least, the official production notes for POTC1 state it was set in the 18th Century - even though Port Royal was destroyed by an earthquake in 1692). Either we are to politely ignore the anachronism, or time travel is part of the storyline (please, no!).
Don't forget the new Christmas Treasure Hunt (above). If you haven't seen the final scene of Princess of Thieves, you won't have seen Keira sporting possibly the longest neck in the world. I'm sure it's shrunk since then - must have been all that heading the ball in Bend It Like Beckham!
December 17th
Attention all prospective cast members for the Pirates sequels: Here is an interview with casting director Sande Alessi of Sande Alessi Casting, who held auditions last weekend. It also contains very interesting information on filming and casting. The article is reproduced with kind permission of the author, Diane B. Rooney.

Filming on Domino is due to wrap next Monday, December 20th. The original plans for an explosion at the top of the Stratosphere now appear to have been changed to a climactic scene in the restaurant at the top of the tower instead. Article.
Comingsoon.net reports that Chow Yun Fat will have a role in one of the Pirates sequels, and points to an article confirming the return of Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa.
The first of the long-awaited casting calls for the Pirates sequels has been posted here, with all sorts of strange characters being called for. The long filming schedule of February to December would suggest that two sequels are still planned to be recorded back to back. The call for ethnicities from just about every corner of the world gives away not a lot about the possible locations for the films, but Pacific adventures are hinted at.
The BBC's annual look at celebrities 'Before They Were Famous' on Christmas Day will feature Keira in this year's show, with footage from The Bill likely to be shown.
December 14th
A Las Vegas topless dancer will double
for Keira in Domino's love scenes, according to this
article in the Review Journal newspaper of Las Vegas. Roberta Lorincz
- at 28 a full nine years older than Keira - was called in to record the
sex scenes at the Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. Filming took four
takes over seven hours, with Lorincz wearing her long hair under a short
crop wig, so as to match Keira's short do. Lorincz is lead dancer in the
X Girls topless revue at Aladdin's V Theatre in Las Vegas.
- Keira has always said recording
nudity is fine if it's integral to the story, as it was in Doctor Zhivago
and King Arthur. Perhaps this scene is not integral to the story - and
therefore decided not to do it.
- For the record, a love scene in
next year's The Jacket and a mild scene with Clive Owen in this year's
King Arthur followed this
scene from Doctor Zhivago, recorded when she was 16 and this
brief topless scene in The Hole, recorded when she was just 15 (although
she was 16 when the movie was released).
- A full movie clips gallery will
be online soon. Watch this space...
Keira was spotted in the Ghost Bar on Saturday night, located on the 55th floor of the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

Keira has suffered burns while filming Domino in LA. During a scene in which she fires two guns simultaneously, one of the shells ricocheted and hit her. She was treated at the scene and resumed filming shortly afterwards. An insider from the set said: "It was a corker of a burn but she hasn't complained and has just got on with the job."
December 10th
Following contact with her agency today, I can confirm that Keira WILL be resuming her role of Elizabeth Swann in the Pirates sequels.

The BBC appear to have sour grapes over Irish channel RTE1's premiere of Bend It Like Beckham on Christmas Eve, a day before it was due to premiere on BBC1. The Harry Potter movie has now been pulled forward to Christmas Day on BBC1 and BILB has disappeared altogether. Hmmm. But there's still plenty of Keira to catch while you're regretting eating that last mince pie - check the Calendar opposite.

Good news if you wrote to Keira at one of the two US addresses I gave for the Domino set - Jennifer has emailed to say she got a reply today, consisting of a signed 10x8 photo featuring one of the Domino publicity shots. Although filming has now moved to Las Vegas, you may still get a reply from the LA addresses.
UK cinema-goers this festive season may spot a familiar face in the pre-movie commercials. Keira's man Jamie Dornan can be seen in ads for Dolce & Gabbana.

Access Hollywood featured a set report from Domino this week. Read the report here.
While it's still uncertain that the UK's syndication of Access Hollywood will return to LivingTV next year, one of America's other staple entertainment shows WILL be crossing the pond in January. Sky One will show Entertainment Tonight from January 3rd next year, as well as producing its own one-hour weekly UK version, focusing on British celebs. That series starts on January 7th at 8pm. Filmed in Hollywood, no prizes for guessing who may pop up quite frequently on those shows.
December 1st
The Jacket will get its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, between January 20th and 30th, being held in Park City, Utah.

Keira came in at No.15 in E!'s countdown of ambitious blondes in Hollywood, and the show featured a nice 1min 50sec profile - 3.5Mb
Although it was announced almost nine months ago that Bend It Like Beckham had been bought by the BBC, and I predicted (correctly as it turned out) it would be shown this Christmas, what only became clear today is that the movie is one of BBC1's 'highlights' for the Christmas holidays. The film will premiere on Christmas Day evening at 6.25pm, with the channel's other movie highlight, the first Harry Potter film, showing at 5.40pm on Boxing Day evening. Coincidentally, Sky Movies' Christmas Day highlight at 8pm is Love Actually.
November 24th
The December issue of Sky Magazine has a four-page feature on Keira as they promote the Christmas day premiere of Love Actually. See the Magazines page for the scans and interview.
Disney's premiere of Pirates Of The
Caribbean will be on Decmeber 12th at 7pm.
BBC1 have confirmed
today that Bend It Like Beckham will form part of their Christmas package
of premieres and new shows. Festive TV listings are out tomorrow.
Sky Movies will premiere Love Actually
on Christmas Day from 8pm and showing every 15 minutes thereafter on multiplay.
So between now and New Year, us
Brits can enjoy Oliver Twist, The Treasure Seekers, Pirates of the Caribbean,
Love Actually AND Bend It Like Beckham. Have a very Keira Christmas!

Prior to the UK TV premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean this Christmas on Disney, the channel will air a 25-minute behind the scenes programme called Unlocking The Treasure, showing on December 5th at 8.40pm. This may or may not be the same feature as on the DVD, but will bound to be very similar in any case!

Official synopsis for The Jacket
from Warner Bros.:
"A psychological thriller about
a military veteran who returns to his native Vermont suffering from bouts
of amnesia. When he is accused of murder and lands in an asylum, a well-meaning
doctor puts him on a heavy course of experimental drugs, restrains him
in a jacket-like device, and locks him away in a body drawer of the basement
morgue. The process sends him on a journey into the future, where he can
foresee his death (but not who did it or how) in four day’s time. Now the
only question that matters is: can the woman he meets in the future save
him?"

It's gone a bit quiet on Planet Keira. Domino filming continues in LA, and will move on to Las Vegas from the 26th of this month.
Some UK TV notes:
- Keira's dad Will appears in this
Friday's repeat of A Touch Of Frost on ITV1 at 8pm. He plays Barry Hockey
in the episode 'Unknown Soldiers'.
- Oliver Twist starts this Sunday
on ITV1, but Keira is not in it till next Sunday the 28th.
- The BBC's disturbing new series
Paparazzi follows photographers as they hunt down Keira on a film set (possibly
Pride and Prejudice). Catch it on Monday 29th on BBC3.
In the US, Doctor Zhivago repeats on PBS on December 19th and 26th.

New Domino pic and brief blurb about the movie from USA Today, er, today.
And a less flattering photo of Dame Keira which appeared in the Sunday Mirror last weekend. Blame my mate Iain for the creases (but thanks anyway!).
King Arthur is no turkey in Turkey, where it has taken US$1.1m in 11 days, and US$2.5m in China over the same period. Total box office worldwide is now $149.7m, almost three times its US tally.
A new entry in the Rumours section today. The Daily Star (probably the least trustworthy of any newspaper anywhere) says there are plans to turn the West End musical Mamma Mia into a movie, with Keira tipped for a major role. Read about Mamma Mia here.

Keira stays in Tatler magazine's 'Little Black Book' of eligible men and women in Britain, but is knocked off the top spot she held last year by Jemima Khan.
As explained in my blog
recently, the Pirates 2 subtitle will not be Treasures of the Lost Abyss.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer makes the denial in a new interview,
as well as denying Keith Richards is on board to play Jack's dad (another
rumour that's at least 12 months old). A March start date is mentioned,
and Keira's confirmation as Elizabeth is also hinted at.
Note: IMDb is listing the 'Treasures...'
subtitle as fact, thus proving, as I've said many times to many people,
the IMDb is not the gospel of movie info that many visitors (and especially
IMDb themselves) like to think it is. It is updated by the public and the
public get things wrong.
Co-owner of Working Title Films Eric Fellner suggests an early Spring 2005 release date for its production of Pride and Prejudice, in this interview from comingsoon.net (scroll to bottom). This would mean Keira would have both The Jacket and Pride in cinemas at the same time. Tony Scott may also still be trying for a spring premiere of Domino, which would make three trips to the cinema for Keira fans in the first half of next year - and three DVDs to buy in the summer!
November 9th
The Domino cast and crew will move to Las Vegas between Thanksgiving (November 25th) and Christmas, according to this article today.
Yet another set of Keira and mum photos have appeared at lime-light.org. Keira seems to be wearing an animal other than her koi carp tattoo transfer around her neck! See them here.
November 8th
ITV1 will be showing Oliver Twist
over three Sundays starting November 21st at 3.55pm. A 14-year old Keira
starred as Rose Fleming, but only in Parts 2 and 3, I believe. This includes
Keira's first screen kiss! This is the first time ITV have repeated this
mini-series although it is available to buy on VHS.
E! UK will also be premiering its
Ultimate Hollywood Blondes on the 21st at 9pm, in which there's a quick
sighting of Keira.

King Arthur is becoming something of a sleeper hit in China. Opening quite poorly, it is now taking millions of Yuan, according to a release by the Xinhua Press agency today.

Two more pics from the set of Domino appeared in The Sun today via bigphoto.com, as you can see here and here. In the second pic, is Edgar Ramirez, on the left, who plays Domino's boyfriend Choco, so-called because of his passion for choking people to death (but I'm sure he loves his mother), and Mickey Rourke who plays Domino's boss Ed.
Talking of mothers, that's Keira's mum Sharman Macdonald on the left of this photo, in case you were wondering. Keira's body double is on the right.

The new Empire movie magazine has a review of the King Arthur DVD saying the extra 17 minutes explains a lot of the confusion that arises from the edited theatrical release. It also has a short preview of The Jacket, but with no new pics or information - other than a UK release date of July 2005 (even though this page of its web site says November - and they've spelled her name wrong. Come on, guys!). If the March 11th US release date is still true, then July is more likely for the UK.
King Arthur took $869,000 in China, BuenaVista International's third-highest Chinese tally ever, after Pirates and Pearl Harbor. Seems there'll always be a welcome for Mr. Bruckheimer in the People's Republic. Global tally for KA is now $143m.
King Arthur cinematographer Slawomir Idziak (Black Hawk Down, Proof Of Life) will receive the Outstanding Achievement Award at the CamerImage Film Festival, to be held at Lodz, in his native Poland from November 27th. Here's an interview from 1995.

UK: Pirates of the Caribbean will premiere on the Disney Channel in the UK, according to a 'winter season' promotion currently showing, which also includes the premiere of Finding Nemo. Further to yesterday's good news about ITV1's new Sunday drama slot including Oliver Twist, I can now confirm it will also include The Treasure Seekers.
October 23rd
UK TV channel ITV1 will be starting
a 'classic Sunday afternoon drama' slot from next Sunday, 31st. Between
now and Christmas, Oliver Twist will be one of the serials shown. A 14-year-old
Keira played Rose Fleming in this retelling of the Dickens novel by playwright
Alan Bleasdale. The wonderful companion
book to the series is still available.
Thanks to Tamise for the heads-up.
Barbossa is back! In an article in
today's Sydney Morning Herald, actor Geoffrey Rush has reoprtedly been
offered roles in movies taking him through 2005, many of which will have
to be declined as he 'will be returning as Captain Barbossa in Pirates
of the Caribbean 2'.
Sets are apparently being built
behind closed doors under a false project name in Hollywood, a common 'insider'
tactic for sequels of blockbuster movies.
Things are stepping up a gear now
for the Pirates sequels. Expect confirmation of who, what, where and when
within a few weeks. Of course, we don't know what, if anything, Keira will
be doing between Christmas and the reported filming start of Pirates 2
in March. Tulip Fever, perhaps ? Stay tuned, folks!
October 22nd
Zap2It reports Pirates 2 pre-production is now underway, although filming won't start until March.
Love Actually is being re-released for Christmas on November 8th in the UK. Nothing extra on the DVD from what I can gather, just a Christmassy cover.

Richard-kelly.net has the scan of the feature and probably the first photo anyone has seen of the woman. I don't think I'd get into an argument with her! See it here.
Bride and Prejudice opened at No.1 in the UK this week taking £1.7m, only slightly less than director Gurinder Chadha's first blockbuster Bend It Like Beckham, which debuted at No.1 with £2m.
October 11th
Keira is on the cover of the next Italian Vanity Fair. Photos inside are nothing new, except for a severely airbrushed cover shot.
The Cambridge Union have invited Keira to talk on a subject of her choice. No date has yet been confirmed. The CU is the debating society of Cambridge University in England, and its speakers since the Union's formation in 1815 have included Winston Churchill, Stephen Hawking and Michael Moore.

Disney's presidet Bob Iger has confirmed that Pirates 2 is still in the pipeline. Speaking at the Merrill Lynch Media and Entertainment Conference in Pasadena, Ca., he said he had high hopes for Disney's future projects including "The Shaggy Dog," "Pirates of the Caribbean 2" and "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe."
Today's Sunday Mirror reports that a romance developed on the set of Pride and Prejudice between actress Rosamund Pike and the film's director Joe Wright.
King Arthur has now racked up $137m around the world, with Turkey and China still to open.
Further to last week's feature
on Keira's school boyfriend, a reader writes in today's Letters Page:
"I LOVED your story last week
about the student who dumped Keira Knightley, who's now been voted the
sexiest movie actress in the world. I've done some stupid things in my
time, but when I read how dumb MattLeo Dean was, I felt really good for
a change."
October 9th
The UK King Arthur DVD will
be available in both a 'theatrical cut' version (certificate 12) and a
'directors' cut' version (certificate 18). The latter will feature all
the gory scenes which were cut for the cinema, an extra 17 minutes in total.
Both are released on November 29th.
Fans in North America who always wanted to write to Keira but didn't want to send letters to London can now get in touch with her while she's in the US filming Domino. Don't expect immediate responses and use this guide to ensure you do the right thing, or ask me nicely for tips! Write to Keira at:

Catch-up from the last couple of weeks:
SITE NEWS: Video clips and King Arthur page have been removed. Clips will be back shortly.
Conflicting reports on the Pirates sequels: A UK radio report stated Keira was out of both sequels, but a TV interview with Jonathan Pryce (Governor Swann) said he and she were both signed and filming would begin in early New Year. Confirmation awaits...
The Hollywood Film Festival, which will see Keira presented with the Breakthrough Actress Award on October 18th, couldn't have picked a better movie to showcase her talents. Among the festival's 60 movies being screened from around the world is Pure, by Gillies MacKinnon. Keira played pregnant drug addict Louise Bastable in a movie recorded in early 2002.
King Arthur has opened in its final market Italy, debuting at No.2 behind Spider-Man 2 with $2.2m. Its global box office is now $135m.
More details on the special-edition Pirates DVD out next month.
Filming on Domino has begun. Keira flies out this weekend now Pride and Prejudice has wrapped. New additions to the cast were announced this week.
Final scenes for Pride and Prejudice were filmed this week, including a cliff-top scene for Keira in the Peak District. Sun article - Mirror scan.
Scotland's Daily Record has a Top 10 list compiled by an actor's average box office gross, with Keira at No.8 on £98m. Most entries are Star Wars-related.
The Sunday Mirror had an interview
with Keira's school boyfriend MattLeo Dean. Basically a 'sour grapes' rant
about not hanging on to her. More fool him. And there are some factual
errors in his quotes, such as Keira having blue eyes and her playing Juliet
in the youth theatre production of her mother's play After Juliet (Juliet
was dead, hence the title!). Possibly journalistic errors, but still...
The spread DID feature some never-before-seen
school
photos, however.
Bend it Like Beckham has its 'last-play' on Sky Movies next Monday 11th at 10.05pm. It will then premiere on BBC1, possibly over Christmas.
See if you can Beat The Aunties in this Bend It Like Beckham game. Be warned - it's VERY addictive. I have the No.20 high score. See if you can beat that or knock my friend Leanne off the top spot.

SITE NEWS: New section: Keira's Diary.
September 20th
EXCLUSIVE: After correspondence with Ruby Films, production company of Tulip Fever, I can confirm that the movie *WILL* go ahead. It will shoot next year, and Keira will still be playing Sophia Sandvoort. Filming will likely take place April to June, as originally intended. 12,000 tulip bulbs were planted the previous winter so as to be flowering in time for filming during those months this year. This will likely be the determining factor once more. In a film about tulips, synthetic ones just won't cut it! The involvement of the other actors, notably Jude Law, is still unconfirmed, although Jude has nothing conflicting so far in his schedule, as far as is publicly known.
The doubts about the future of this
movie were threefold.
1. The sudden closing of a 'tax
loophole' by the British government on February 10th meant the promised
funding and 'cash-back' incentive of the funding companies was stopped.
Producer Alison Owen vented her anger in an article
for The Guardian. A new tax break for British movies will be announced
by the government tomorrow (September 21st). This may or may not affect
the project. If funding has since been sourced elsewhere, it shouldn't.
The original $45m budget has now been shaved to $26m.
2. The Internet Movie Database (IMDb)
have removed all traces of Tulip Fever and its cast and crew's involvement.
IMDb is held by many as the 'movie Bible', whereas it is only a publicly-updated
database,
and therefore can only be as accurate as the information provided by that
public.
3. Filming of the Pirates of the
Caribbean sequel(s) were due to start early next year, thus conflicting
with any filming of Tulip Fever, and vice versa. Nothing has been heard
for quite a few months about these sequels, other than both stories were
definitely being written. After the dismal year Disney have had at the
'domestic' (ie. US) box office, perhaps the big guns are having a rethink.
In an interview in today's Daily Telegraph, director Gurinder Chadha has confirmed earlier reports that her Jeannie in the new adaptation of I Dream of Jeannie will be 'a Muslim girl'. This kills stone dead all of the rumours that Keira will star as the genie. Parminder, perhaps ?

Bend It Like Beckham is a surprise
hit at the North Korea film festival:
"...one of the biggest favorites
was Tuesday's showing of the 2002 comedy "Bend It Like Beckham." North
Koreans roared at the jokes and gasped at the love scenes— an eye-popping
departure from the government-made propaganda flicks that are standard
viewing fare in the Hermit Kingdom. "It was incredible," said a stunned
filmgoer who has visited the country regularly for the past decade. "The
entire crowd responded spontaneously and naturally. That was something
I've never seen before." - Article.
'Extreme Close-Up: Keira Knightley' airs on E! Entertainment UK this Wednesday at 6.30pm. It will feature footage and interviews from the set of King Arthur.
Film2004 will have a profile and interview with Beckham director Gurinder Chadha as her new movie Bride and Prejudice prepares for release. BBC1, Monday night at 11.50pm. Meanwhile, there are interviews here and here in which she talks about the success of BILB.

The two different versions of the King Arthur DVDs (rated and unrated) will feature different artwork, according to the cover pics on this review site.

A new Korea move: Keira has become one of only a handful of Western actresses to be introduced to the people of North Korea. The world's only remaining closed Communist state held a low-key international film festival last week in its capital Pyongyang. A fiercely competitive sporting nation, one of the films deemed suitable for exhibition was Bend It Like Beckham. The dictator-leader Kim Jong-Il is a massive Hollywood movie fan, even going so far as to kidnap a South Korean filmmaker in 1978, forcing him to make propaganda movies for him. Thankfully, Keira did not attend the film festival.
AustenBlog has received information confirming Keira IS still filming P & P, and will be wearing a wig for the rest of the scenes. There's also more details of the supporting cast.
September 15th
The first major co-star for Domino has been announced. It is to be Ian Ziering, who played Steve Sanders in both Melrose Place and Beverly Hills 90210. He is to play a reality TV host who gets kidnapped. Filming in Nevada will include shoots in the Valley of Fire State Park and the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas and its famous rooftop tower and thrill ride (which is due to explode in a dramatic finale). The rumour about 90210 cast members being in the film is true, as they will be part of the reality show. A release date of late April 2005 has already been pencilled in. Article (scroll down). Filming in Nevada and LA begins on October 4th. More cast to be announced soon.
What goes around comes around. On February 14th this year, it was announced that Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha was planning to remake the classic TV sitcom I Dream of Jeannie. Immediately, and perhaps inevitably, rumours circulated that Keira was to be Jeannie, none of which were ever confirmed. Gurinder's plans are again hitting the headlines and the rumours about Keira are again doing the rounds. If Keira really has been considered for the role, she would only be one of a dozen or more actresses on a shortlist, but it will be Keira's name that will persist, purely because of her 'girl of the moment' label and her previous working relationship with Gurinder.
Love Actually has made the Top 10 of (yet another) all-time favourite film poll, this time conducted by Diet Coke and Vue Cinemas in the UK. Article.
The King Arthur DVD will be released in the UK on November 29th, almost a full month before the North America release of December 21st, and will be priced at £14.99. Details on both region's discs are expected to be the same (see August 31st news below for DVD contents). You can. of course, pre-order either region disc via Amazon from the KeiraWeb Store.
September 13th
Keira appears to have had her hair cropped short, presumably for her new role of Domino Harvey, which starts filming on October 4th. Most of today's UK tabloids carried the picture, or one similar. See a pic from The Metro newspaper (which I have scanned and left large) here. We must assume that Keira's scenes in Pride and Prejudice have now been completed (although surely she would be in the Pemberley scenes at Chatsworth House from 27th to 29th of this month?).
Keira has been nominated in the category Best International Actress at the Irish Film & Television Awards (IFTA). See voting details here.
Jamie was back in his native Northern Ireland last week for an interview with BBC Radio Ulster's 'Saturday Magazine' show, in which he spoke about his own career and his 'fears' for Keira - article.
In an interview for Aint-It-Cool-News, Domino writer Richard Kelly says: "Pre-production and casting is underway. Lots of announcements soon about that. We start shooting on October 4th... Can't wait to see Keira sink her teeth into this one..." This site has some interesting character descriptions for the casting call.

UK viewers can catch the Teen Choice Awards on Channel 4 next Saturday at 11.55am. Keira didn't attend, but she and Orlando won Best Liplock and Best Chemistry awards for Elizabeth and Will in Pirates.

More articles from Stamford: Keira shopping - Diary of an extra - Filming ends
IGN FilmForce have resurrected the
rumour
about Keira being in Jurassic Park IV. At the moment, the rumour is still
false, but I am trying to find out for sure. It was exactly twelve months
ago that Keira's agent told me she would not be involved in either the
JP4 or next James Bond projects. But times can change, and with Tulip Fever
still not confirmed as being definitely on, perhaps she can fit it in after
all. Of course, it's always possible that IGN are still clinging on to
the old rumour. They wouldn't be the only ones.

Filming in Stamford has now ended, and the cast and crew have moved on to Basildon Park, in Berkshire, West of London. The House will become Netherfield, the Bingley family home. The Octoagon Room, dining room, entrance hall and reception rooms will be used, as well as exterior filming.

King Arthur's non-US box office now stands at $118m, including $1.4m in Greece, a live-action movie record for distributor BVI in Greece, beating even Pirates of the Caribbean in the Olympic homeland. Spain is also doing Arthur proud, totalling $11.1m in ticket sales, and $9.2m after three weeks in Germany. It stands at No.31 in the US, No.13 in the UK and No.1 for a second week in Germany.

Pride and Prejudice catch-up:
Filming at Groombridge Place in
Tunbridge Wells (where all those photos came from) finished on August 22nd,
with the company moving to Wilton House in Wiltshire from the 23rd to 25th.
The House was used for the majority of Pemberley's interior scenes, notably
the drawing room and library scenes. Listen to a BBC Radio Wiltshire interview
with the location manager here.
Other tranquil Wiltshire settings, including Martin Down and Stourhead
Gardens were also used (Wilton House was the location of the famous Colin
Firth wet shirt scene in the 1995 BBC adaptation). Filming is now underway
at Stamford in Lincolnshire, near to Burghley House where filming took
place in July. A street and its shop fronts have been transformed into
a period setting. Filming ends here on Tuesday 7th, and will then move
to Berkshire, possibly Highclere Castle, before moving on to Chatsworth
House in Derbyshire from September 27th to 29th, which will be used for
Pemberley's exterior scenes, as well as a couple of rooms for interior
scenes. Chatsworth was also used in the 1995 mini-series, and is believed
to have been Jane Austen's actual inspiration for Pemberley.

King Arthur has now grossed $159m worldwide, and is in the all-time box office list at No.357. It's no comparison, of course, but The Phantom Menace is at No.4 and Pirates is at No.21.

You're never too famous: Keira & co. have apparently been forced to be booked into hotels in nearby Peterborough rather than Stamford where they are currently filming. This is due to all Stamford hotel rooms being fully booked due to the Burghley Horse Trials taking place at Burghley House, where cast and crew were filming in August.
SITE NEWS: Well here we are at our new home, ready for the arduous task of writing the Encyclopedia of Keira Knightley. My good friend Leanne will be designing the pages for me (she's qualified in it to a high standard, I'll have you know!), and I intend to make this site the first Keira fan site that's NOT 99% pretty pictures. Ye Olde James Bond rumour has surfaced again, after it was killed LAST August. Forget about it. Keira will not be a Bond girl.
The $100m non-US box office target for King Arthur has now been passed, and a new target of $150m has now been set as it is still to open in some countries.
Keira is now back at Stamford in Lincolnshire for more scenes of Pride and Prejudice. The rushes so far have been seen by the Working Title top brass, according to a business interview in The Times this weekend.

Bend It Like Beckham's long run on Sky Movies appears to be coming to an end this week. BBC1 have bought the terrestrial rights to the film, so it looks like it will be part of their Christmas package. Similarly, Pirates of the Caribbean has now ended its run on pay-per-view TV and should premiere on Sky Movies in October. The BBC have also bought the terrestrial rights to Pirates, but don't expect to see it on the Beeb before Easter.

03 Aug 04 - A vigorous promotional campaign has paid off for Disney in the UK, with King Arthur storming to No.1 in the box office, taking £1.9m since opening on Friday and knocking Spider-Man 2 off the top spot. This is despite UK reviews being almost as negative as those in the US, with critics picking up on the lack of Camelot, Avalon and the love triangle in the storyline and with arguments rife regionally over the movie's failure to include its own area (the South West, Walesetc.) in this version of the legend. Of the £1.9m taken across 400 screens, £332,000 of it was in previews before its Friday opening. It also debuted at No.1 in Belgium, Thailand, Denmark and the Netherlands. Non-US box office now stands at $31.9m with several markets still to open, so it should surpass its fairly poor US tally of $48.5m so far. DVD sales, promised to include the uncut version of the movie, will help to recoup Disney's production costs on the movie.

- A perfect example of tabloid journalism twisting the facts. An article
in today's Sunday Mirror
here
tells of Keira's love for Jamie despite the front page screaming 'Keira
Exclusive - Knights of Lust' when
the article
says nothing of the sort. The feature includes one of Paul's photos mentioned
above and this
photo
from last year's Empire Magazine shoot. It makes out that the interview
was conducted during this
shoot, when
in fact Keira may not even have met Jamie when Adrian Green did this shoot
more than 12
months ago.
