On January 31st 2006, 20-year old Keira Knightley received her first Academy Award nomination for her role as Elizabeth Bennet in Working Title's adaptation of the Jane Austen novel Pride & Prejudice. |
"She won our hearts - and a best-actress
nomination - as spunky Elizabeth in "Pride and Prejudice." And on Oscar
night, Keira Knightley won our vote as best-dressed star on the red carpet.
She was gorgeous in a one-shoulder Vera Wang gown of wine-colored taffeta
with a fitted, asymmetrical bodice and trumpet skirt."
- Michael Quintanilla, San Antonio Express |
"This is such an amazing dress and
I am really pleased to be able to donate it to Oxfam. I have seen the TV
reports on the horrendous drought in East Africa and I know how desperate
things have become, so I am happy to be able to do something to help."
